The Plumbing Department was founded in 1999 by Jeff Kafka, a Chicago native who spent a decade as a journeyman before going out on his own. The pitch was simple: do the work yourself, do it right, and don’t disappear after the check clears.
25+ years later, that’s still how we run the company. The same plumbers come back to the same homes year after year. Many of the customers who called us in 2001 are still calling us today to maintain their homes.
